After You’ve Gone

1938

Full score and parts/Full score only

Mary Lou Williams’ arrangement of “After You’ve Gone” was written for Benny Goodman in 1938, while recovering at her sister’s home from an operation. The arrangement was not recorded until long after Williams’ death and proves to be a brilliant and sophisticated reading of the classic 1918 song.
