“Corky Stomp” was written for Andy Kirk and His Twelve Clouds of Joy on the occasion of the group’s first recording sessions that took place in November 1929 in Kansas City. It is one of the few examples of the Kirk and Williams creative collaboration, and one of Williams’ first arrangements.
