A sophisticated reworking of Williams' own 1929 composition, this version of “Mary’s Idea” was written for Andy Kirk and His Clouds of Joy in 1938. Recorded on December 6 that same year, it had been cut due to time restrictions. Based on the manuscripts, this edition restores the original longer version of the piece.
