Riffs (a.k.a. Dunkin’ a Doughnut)

1937

Full score and parts/Full score only

“Riffs” is one of the early pieces Mary Lou Williams wrote for Benny Goodman, in 1937. Although it remained unrecorded by the clarinetist, it was recorded in December, 1938 by Andy Kirk and His Clouds of Joy under the title “Dunkin’ a Doughnut”. This edition is based on the score she wrote for Goodman, while proposing alternatives that are coming from the Kirk recording.
