Roll ‘Em
1944
Full score and parts/Full score only
Recorded by “Mary Lou and Her Chosen Five” on March 12, 1944 and released in June 1944, “Roll ‘Em”, along with other pieces recorded on this date, marks the beginning of one of Williams’ most creative periods of her life. Research for this piece revealed the role of Edgar Sampson, providing Williams with a new arrangement that she would revisit to make her own version of the 1937 classic she had written for Benny Goodman.
